I’ve been coached by Ike Verkroost from BARS Weightlifting for a little over a year now. It has been a very good experience thus far. I didn’t only put 15kg on my total, but most importantly my technique improved a lot. Ike was always very patient in the process (and needed to teach me that as well haha). The thought that goes into my program is more than just numbers and exercises on a piece of paper. It makes sure I’m continuing to have fun, work on my weaknesses and build on my strengths.
Applying for Remote Coaching hasn’t been a mistake and I’m still enjoying it till this day!
Just a couple of weeks ago I attended a BARS Weightlifting seminar and it was worth every penny. The step by step build up really helped me with understanding the movement from top to bottom. In combination with the personal cues I’ve received during the seminar, I also learned where it goes wrong in my technique and was able to fix some errors on the spot. Weightlifting is more than just one day of course, so there is still enough to improve. But because of the “homework” I got, I’m still improving day by day!

In the past 2 years, I collaborated with Ike Verkroost from BARS Weightlifting through Remote Coaching, finding it a convenient and effective way to receive in-depth training. This method allowed me to train from any location, improving my technique and strength significantly. While initially adjusting to filming my lifts, the coaching greatly aided my progress. The combination of program variation and consistency kept me motivated and allowed me to track my improvements. Although I suggested more team training sessions, the occasional in-person coaching during competitions made up for it. Overall, I am a satisfied and motivated athlete, eager for more training.
